“Emergency- Post Disaster Filters- CWR’s Emergency fit into all
Big Berkey and Doulton units” - Better Flow and more contaminant reduction!
CWR's Emergency Gravity Filter units are designed for use where pressurized and or potable water is not available. The units use the pressure of gravity to filter water from the upper chamber down through the UlraGravTM Ceramic Filters and into the basin to provide you with clean, safe water from any fresh water source.
How do I know which filter to order?
This filter is capable of removingparticulates down to 0.5 microns in size, making it more efficient and effective than other brand name ceramics. In addition the filter can remove chlorine, lead, bad taste, fluoride, odors and turbidity down to nondetectable levels.
For situations where there are concerns that there may be heavy metals or fluoride in your water, the UltraGravTM Ceramic Filter can handle these contaminants. The new UltraGravTM Ceramic Filter can remove Fluoride and Toxic Heavy Metals, a feature that standard ceramics do not have! In addition, the UltraGravTM Ceramic filter reduces particulates down to 0.5 microns >99.95%, sediment, turbidity, chlorine, bad taste and odor as well.
Upgrading to the Imperial UltraGrav Ceramic with Metalgon filters, the Metalgon media will provide maximum reduction of a wide range of toxic contaminants including Fluoride, Pharmaceuticals, Chlorine, Chloramine, Lead, parasites and bacteria. The 2.75" diameter gives you up to 54% more surface area for greater filtration performance. This will increase your water volume production and provide you with the maximum amount of clean, safe and filtered water per hour.
Stage 1: The outer ceramic filter removes particulates down to 0.5 microns >99.95%.
Stage 2: Carbon reduces chlorine, chlorine byproducts, bad taste, odors and chemicals.
Stage 3: (Exclusive to UltraGravTM with Metalgon) The Metalgon media will provide maximum removal of a wide range of contaminants including Fluoride, Pharmaceuticals, Chlorine, Chloramine, Lead.
No priming necessary unlike the Berkey units that require dirty water to be flushed into the filter before use.
Eliminates particulates down to 0.5 microns > 99.95%.
Ceramic filter contains nonleachable silver to enhance the ceramic shell. Unit can hold up to 4 filters (supplied with 2) to increase flow rate per hour when more water volume is required.
Unit easily assembles in seconds and can be transported for use in remote areas with any fresh water source.
Reduction results are dependent upon source water quality. Results may vary over the life time of the filter.

We are very careful when making claims about how many gallons of water the filters can purify because they are used in a variety of contaminant conditions. For example, in an Emergency situation your source water could be a lake, river or stream. In this case the ceramic portion of the filter and MetalGon media inside the ceramic could last several thousand gallons with cleaning the outside of the filter. When using the filters with municipal supplied water, again the ceramics can last several thousand gallons but the MetalGon media inside the ceramic will last approximately 600 gallons in water that contains 2 parts per million or less of chlorine. Heavy metal reduction will last approximately 300 gallons per filter. The number of people using the filters and the number and size of the filters will also be factors in how many gallons of water throughput can be achieved.
Product Detail
Applications:Camping, Emergency Situations and everyday use where potable water is required.
-The unit is designed for use where pressurized and/or suitable potable water is not available. -The unit uses gravity to filter the water from the upper chamber through UltraGrav Ceramic filter(s) to supply clean, safe drinking water from most any water source, which is stored in the lower chamber ready for use. -The housing is manufactured from FDA approved, high density poly-propylene (HDPE) -Extremely durable, lightweight, portable and a self contained drinking water system.
** If water in Not potable- either add a chlorine disinfection tablet before putting the water into the filter unit or you can boil the water for at least 3-4 minutes, let cool then add to unit. -The system can accommodate up to 4 Imperial UltraGrav ceramic filters, or up to 4 Standard UltraGrav ceramic filters. to provide ample drinking water for any situation.
Contaminant & Reduction Ability of Standard High Efficiency Filter
-Filter Capacity: Up to 4- Imperial UltraGrav Ceramic filters or up to 4 Standard UltraGrav Ceramic Filters -Water Production: Approximately 1/4 gallon per hour per 2 filters. URGENT: FAILURE TO CHANGE YOUR FILTERS AS RECOMMENDED WILL EXPOSE YOU TO CANCER-CAUSING TOXINS
ALL FILTERS HAVE A VARIABLE LIMITED LIFESPAN WHICH IS DEPENDENT UPON:
LEVELS OF CHEMICALS AND HEAVY METALS IN THE SOURCE WATER
NUMBER OF PEOPLE USING THE FILTERED WATER
AMOUNT OF SEDIMENT AND DIRT IN THE SOURCE WATER
SUDDEN HIGH DOSING OF THE SOURCE WATER WITH CHLORINE OR CHLORAMINE
FACT: Even if water is flowing through the ceramic filter after cleaning, the filter will NOT last beyond one (1) year. The reason is that the carbon block inside the ceramic and other filter(s) are adsorbing chemicals, heavy metals and many toxic contaminants and will become saturated. If you do not change the filter(s) at the recommended time, the trapped chemicals will leach off of the filter(s) and increase the contaminant level of your drinking water.
FACT: Most contaminants, such as parasites, bacteria and lead DO NOT cause an off taste. Just because the water “tastes good” does not mean the filter(s) are still effectively removing the contaminants in your drinking water. They need to be changed according to CWR’s Guidelines. See below.
On the other hand, if the filtered water does have an off taste, the filter(s) are definitelysaturated and need to be changed immediately.
We want all of our customers to be fully protected from all types of cancer causing toxins in your drinking water including industrial chemicals, chloramine, pharmaceuticals, pesticides, fluoride and heavy metals. The new CWR Multi-Stage filters can remove higher levels of contaminants being detected in most water systems across the U.S. However, these filters do become saturated with all of the contaminants that are trapped, and need to be changed at the recommended frequency before the contaminants spill over into your drinking water.
GUIDELINES FOR Gravity FILTER CHANGING :
1-2 people : 6 months
3-4 people : 4-6 months
Changing frequencies can be shortened by increased contamination factors as discussed above.
ABSOLUTELY – DO NOT USE YOUR FILTERS BEYOND 1 YEAR.
Whole house filtration using custom designed tanks that are installed on the main house pipe in combination with several sink filters is the best line of defense for reducing a wide range of contaminants to non-detectable levels.
