CWR water filters filter out micro-plastics?

CWR water filters filter out micro-plastics

Answer:

Micro plastics have two components.

1. The physical particle that will vary in size down to the sub-micron level

2. The chemicals that leach from the plastics into the source water from industrial dumping and water that is sitting in soft plastics bottles.

The Ceramic filters that we supply can remove particles as small as 0.5 microns 99.99% and particles 0.3 microns 99.9%. For removal of particles smaller than 0.3 microns, a Reverse Osmosis membrane would be recommended.

The chemicals that leach from plastics include phthalates, Bisphenol A and other plastic chemicals. They are all toxic and endocrine disruptors. To remove them from drinking water requires VOC ( Volatile Organic Chemical) rated carbon filters, or better a Carbon filtration tank installed on the main water supply to a home. We have tested our filters against a wide range of contaminants and achieve 99% reduction of these chemicals with a combination of a ceramic filter, carbon filter, and our proprietary MetalGon filter. When we use a Reverse Osmosis unit we upgrade the pre-filters to improve chemical reduction.
