What about Viruses in your Water?
Viruses in the U.S. water supplies have not been a major issue up to this point. If they exist in a surface water source, chlorine will usually kill them. In many countries rotavirus, poliovirus and others are common.
There are Microtubule type filters that can reduce viruses and microbes 99.99% (4 log reduction) and are used in industry to produce Ultra-pure water, however, the flow rates are very slow. CWR uses a combination of Pre-filtration, Ultraviolet and ceramic filters to achieve 6 log reduction of microbes when required. The major priority contaminant issues are DBPs, VOCs, fluoride, heavy metals such as lead, copper, arsenic and uranium, and unregulated contaminants such as pharmaceuticals, PFOA plus a growing list of emerging chemicals.
We have been able to effectively reduce these contaminants with our new MetalGonTM filters combined with multiple filtration technologies. Filtration equipment solutions are based upon analysis of the source water and our expertise at CWR in selecting the best available technologies for our customers.
